Cam
Brown is a 23-year-old singer/songwriter from Barrie, Ontario Canada.
Coming from a musical family, Cameron has always been surrounded by the
sounds of harmony and song. His father Brad, an accomplished singer in
his own right, has been involved in Barbershop music for over 20 years.
In 1998, Cam decided to form his own A-Capella quartet known as ‘Impact’.
It was his involvement in this group that helped form the path in which
he intends to walk.
Involving himself in the music industry has always been a goal for Cameron. The chance to entertain thousands of people on any given night and to be able to share his music with the world is his primary focus. A soloist who prides himself on developing original songs with smooth vocals and a solid acoustic base, Cameron enjoys creating his own material as well as working with other talented artists. “The industry is so vast and extensive…One of the benefits of working in the industry is that it gives you the opportunity to work with so many talented people. From writers to producers and other musicians, the experience you gain from working with these people is invaluable. Not only is it thrilling to be able to share my music with an audience, but I also love sharing my music with those who have the same passion for music as I do…” Previous experience in the industry includes his involvement as the lead singer of Canadian Pop/R&B groups, Drop4 & oneAVENUE. Signed to ‘Whipback/Sextant/EMI’ records, Cam saw two of their songs hit Canadian radio airwaves, one of which peaked at #11 [Better Days] on the Vibe98.5’s Top 30 Countdown in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Along with Canadian artists Skye Sweetnam and Carl Henry, Cameron had the opportunity to open for BMG/UOMO platinum selling artist Shawn Desman during his ‘Shook’ tour on the eastern provinces of Canada with Drop4. Cam shot two different music videos for the radio singles during his time with these groups, both of which debuted on YTV’s Hitlist and had strong fan support during their stay on the nationally broadcast music video show. Cameron is also a former musical performer at Paramount Canada’s Wonderland. This experience proved to be very beneficial as he entertained tens of thousands over the span of 2 years. The thrill of being on stage daily was a great motivator in his decision to pursue music as a career. Now working as a solo artist, Cameron looks forward to the opportunity to involve himself further in the music industry. Cameron is currently writing/recording and producing numerous tracks for his upcoming EP. “I’ve experienced some really exciting things in music so far. It’s those experiences that drive you to create more…” |
